Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams

Last week, one of our readings discussed how the more skilled an artist is in their craft, the closer they move towards discovering the purpose of their art, the “why.” This reminds me of the vision which Christian Dior had for his fashion designs. According to him, “women, with their intuitive instinct, understood that I dreamed not only of making them more beautiful, but happier too.” Whether or not it actually made them happier remains debatable, but it is interesting to see what he envisioned the impact of his fashion creations to be.
