I am currently on Pan-Asian Dance Troupe, and we had to perform a short piece of choreography as our “summer solo” in a style that we aren’t as familiar with. I decided to go with Mark Meismer’s choreography, because he specializes in contemporary dance, and he is known for his moves that accentuate lines, extensions, quick changes in rhythm, and overall difficult technique. It was quite hard to learn, especially because I haven’t danced in a while, but I really enjoyed the process, and it helped remind me how much I love to dance and perform.
Here is the video of the choreography I learned.
