Wagner Free Institute of Science

This week my IPD class went on a field trip to the Wagner Free Institute for sketching inspiration for wearable art. For those not familiar, the Wagner is a naturally history museum full of different specimens that has been the same since the 1800s — Charles Darwin even spoke there! The different shapes and designs of the bugs and coral were the most interesting to me. The simple shapes and patterns adding together to make a complex design reminded me a lot of the Gestalt project. I found myself thinking about how one would make the patterns on Illustrator and comparing them to our class designs.

Highly recommend the museum! Its easy to get to from septa as like the name suggests is free.
