This hoodie caught my eye while I was reading a New York Times review about the “Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams” exhibit at the Met and the “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” exhibit at the Met. “Ensemble,” the hoodie, is exhibited in the latter exhibit and is designed by a menswear company, Bstroy. The normalcy of the article at a first glance is immediately combated by the double take the audience has after they perceive the double hood and double sleeves. I think it’s quite interesting how it subtly shakes the status quo of what a hoodie should look like, similar to what Chapters 1 and 3 of “Speculative Everything” discussed. The commentary of intimacy of people through this article is interesting, though I cannot quite place the message of it. It’s lovely to look at though because it takes my eyes everywhere.
