Knots, Red Thread Sculpture by June Kim

I was not in class since I joined it right after the first class last week, but since it seems like the class talked about “cool things we saw this summer” I wanted to introduce a sculpture called Knots, Red Thread. This is a sculpture I came across on Pinterest during my Summer break. The way how artist connected red lines through series of acrylic boards surprised me with its exceptional looks. The lines represent social, cultural, and religious human connections, in reality, inspired by the famous Chinese belief that red threads connect those who are destined to meet. The way how lines interconnected with each other and spread throughout the acrylic board inspired me how simple lines and can create large representations.
