“The Day After Tomorrow” Photography

Photographer Eric Asamoah captured images of young men in Ghana. The article about the photos includes a quote from Asamoah about his work: “There is a sense of calm, exploration, and patience in the images and throughout the whole series, because it seems they [the subjects] are preparing for the day when they will find their peace, the answers, and themselves.” I was struck by these images for this very reason. The tone of each photograph is one of calm, despite there being conflict (internal conflict) beneath the surface as you continue to look at the photo.
