As noted in Koren’s “Arranging Things,” there is a certain rhetoric which is utilized to describe the arrangement of things. This rhetoric should be systematic, it should not be constructed on the subjective concept of beauty, and it should be easy for streamlined and easy to use.
Here, I attempt to describe the arrangement of aesthetic food in anime film according to the three principles. Less saturated colors are used in replacement of textures and the application of a well-lit atmosphere creates a sense of coziness for the viewer. Direct and sharp contrasts are avoided as well.
