Something I found interesting recently was Banksy losing his trademark, largely due to the fact that he wishes to remain anonymous. This kind of relates to the antonymic exercise we did in class because the idea of Banksy and his works being very public and well-known while also remaining an unknown person is antonymic in nature. His current battle over trademarks poses an interesting question: should an artist’s identity be a key factor in determining whether or not their artwork be used according to their wishes?
