The hilarious art of book design | Chip Kidd

While discussing and working on book covers, I felt very curious about the process of an actual book designer. How do they translate stories to a book cover? What is the strategy behind the art that “sells” a book? Is there a strategy? I came across this Ted Talk from Chip Kidd who is a renown book designer, and I appreciated a lot of his own reflections and commentary (and humor) on the art of book design. I connected what he discussed about selling books and e-books to our Speculative Everything reading which talked about the confines of design within capitalism. Check out the video here.
