Joani Tremblay: exploring our relationship to nature

Joani Tremblay creates expansive artworks that combine rippled textures and flowing shapes. The soft textures and ripples contrasted with clean edges of some shapes give it an interesting sort of dimension, and I also really enjoy the bright colors used. The art almost has a sense of openness and fresh air, which is appropriate considering the natural theme. This also reminded me of when we talked about composition in class–the shapes and forms they use are very effective at guiding my eye around each piece, and everything feels balanced even in the more asymmetric works.
